My weekend was a lot of fun. On Friday night I went to my friend Hailey's house. We played outside on her trampoline because it was nice out. On Saturday, I had a sleepover with my friends, Mckayla and Kenadi. We watched a ton of Netflix and we played outside with Kenadi's neighbor, Faith. We came back inside ate a ton of popcorn and heated up food in the microwave and watched more Netflix. We finally fell asleep. On Sunday, we slept in because we stayed up really late. We played outside some more. After that we had to take McKayla home. After we took her home, Kenadi and I went to my house to pack up clothes so I could spend the night again. Then I wanted to do something with my mom for mother's day so we went to Hu Hot to eat lunch. It was really good. Next we went back to Kenadi's house and we played outside. We wanted to find a park that was near her house so we walked there but it was when the storm was starting and it started to rain so we went back. We went on her porch so we could watch the storm and the rain. Then when all the storm stopped we went back to the park we found earlier. The park had really cool stuff because it was new. After that, we had to walk back home so we could have time to finish our books. After we finished our books we went to bed. My weekend was a lot of fun with my friends

We did a project for science for invertebrates. We got to do sea stars. Here is the information we found.
This week was fun and exhausting. We are so lucky we got to have two amazing field trips this year. We went to the Des Moines Capital and learned about our government (past and present.) We also learned about the history of the capital. I had no idea there were three other capitals before out current one now. I didn't know about the fire that happened in the House Of Representatives office. There are 100 representatives for Iowa. Each representative has a big wooden desk all to them selves. They all work in the same room. I can't remember the exact date but I know it was in the 1800's that there was a fire in the house of representatives. It was when they had to work for candle light and some guy left his candle in the building and it tipped over and started the fire. They saved 97 out of 100 desks! That's impressive because the day that happened, it was 20 degrees below zero. So all the water just froze.
I also loved going all the way to the top of the capital and looking down. But I also hated it at the same time. I was so scared that the railing was going to break i was going to tumble off. But it was so cool seeing how small everyone looked. Bad thing was that there were a lot of stairs. 91 I think is what our tour guide said. It was so fun at the capital, seeing the beautiful building and learning about the history of Iowa. We also went to the Des Moines Art Center. It was so cool seeing all the pieces of art. I loved going to the sculpture park too. Some of the sculptures were so big! It was so cool seeing the artist that I researched (Louise Bourgeois) two sculptures. They looked so much cooler in person than they did in pictures. I loved seeing all the other pieces. All those people were so talented, to be able to think in a different way then others and put all the pieces together. It was so much fun looking at all the art.
This is my art project. We did it on an artist that has artwork at the Des Moines Art Center. I did Louise Bourgeois. I hope you like it!
My Easter weekend wasn't anything special but it was still fun. On Friday night we had a movie night. We watched The Giver, and Mirror Mirror. We had a lot of buttery popcorn and candy. On Saturday I spent the night at my friend's house. We spent the whole day outside. She has a rope swing hanging from her tree and we were on that a lot. We also rode on her penny board until it went in the street and I almost got run over trying to retrieve it. When it got dark, we went inside to watch a movie. We were skimming through Netflix and we saw Sharknado, so we decided to watch that. In the morning we ate a bunch of candy for breakfast (not a good choice.) Then I eventually had to go home so I could open my Easter basket. I got a bunch of candy, and a stuffed animal. My Easter weekend was a lot of fun!
This is my inquiry project on the Boston Massacre. I have three important people that were involved. I did it on Powtoon. I hope you like it!
My spring break was super fun! I got to go to my dad's house. We spent a lot of time outside playing basketball, jumping on the trampoline and other things. I got to have my friend Ella spend the night at my dad's. We played basketball and ate pizza for dinner. My grandma and my cousins Jaydan and Mason came over and we played outside. I had another friend, Kenadi spend the night at my house on Saturday night and Sunday night (even though tomorrow was a school day!) I also read. My spring break wasn't anything exciting but it sure was fun and relaxing!
I never knew how many different ways there were to give up a baby tooth! At my house, if we loose a tooth we put it under our pillow and the tooth fairy will come and take it while we sleep. Usually the tooth fairy will trade our tooth for money. But in Nigeria they do things WAY different. It's different for both boys and girls. If your a girl you hold six stones in your hand with your tooth. The boys way is similar, but they hold eight stones. They close there eyes and say, "Oh, I want my tooth back!" Next, they throw the stones and tooth in the air and run away as fast as they can. I think that is a really cool tradition! But I want to know why they do it.
We are learning about the New England colony, Middle colony and Southern colony. We did a group Animoto about Massachusetts Bay. We are pretending we lived there and that we wanted more people to come there like a commercial. |
